Applications for the second cycle of 2021-22 Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships are now open.

The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) offer fully-funded two-year Master’s scholarships to Commonwealth citizens. Successful applicants can travel to a different country in the Commonwealth, where they can study a variety of courses and benefit from the expertise provided by leading universities. Developing new skills, gaining a qualification and experiencing life in another country benefits both the individual and their home country. 

Eight fully funded Master’s scholarships are available, hosted by member institutions in nine countries across the Commonwealth including: Fiji, Papua New Guinea, South Africa and Sri Lanka. Further details of the scholarships, including eligibility, host universities and details on how to apply, are available on the ACU website.

Applications close on 10 June at 16:00 (UTC).

Register for ‘Voices of the Blue Charter: a marine plastics research showcase'

Join us on 29 April 2021, at 10:00-11:40 (UTC) for ‘Voices of the Blue Charter’, a unique showcase event where talented researchers will present their innovative work on marine plastics. You will hear about their latest research on a range of topical issues in the field, such as the impacts of plastic pollution in supply chains, community-based mitigation strategies, behavioural change, and alternative applications of waste materials.

The event is free and open for all ACU members to attend. It is an excellent opportunity for students, academics, and those passionate about ocean conservation to engage with emerging research leaders, gain fresh insights into knowledge exchange activities, and discover the latest research driving the fight against marine plastics pollution.

Take part in the Second Global Survey on the impact of COVID-19 on Higher Education

Following the first edition of the Global Survey on the Impact of COVID-19 on Higher Education around the world, the International Association of Universities (IAU) and partners have launched a second edition of the Global Survey one year into the pandemic.

The ACU has taken an active part in the development of the survey which aims not only to monitor the impact of the pandemic on higher education around the world, but also to gain insight about responses to the disruptions caused. By taking part, you will be able to share how your university has been affected by the pandemic, how it has responded, and the key challenges and opportunities for the future.
